About Us

My name is Harriet Morris and I set up The Web Tree towards the end of 2009.

In a previous life I was a teacher, and my interest in creating online content and promoting it began in 2006 when was published in the Times Educational Supplement and in online article sites.

I set up my first website - www.toddler-ideas.com - in 2008 and spent a year’s maternity leave teaching myself the best way to write and promote myself online. I think it is this grounding (that is, doing it all for myself first) that is helping to maintain the high standards that I'm proud of for The Web Tree.

The decade plus that I spent teaching has made me one of those rare creatures who actually enjoys public speaking! I particularly like taking difficult and often dry subjects  that the layperson can easily understand.

Believe me, there's nothing like the experience of standing up in front of a gaggle of bored 15-year-olds trying to get them enthused about their GCSE oral exams and being met with the same reply "How about no?" to push your communication and creative skills to the max!
